WWE CEO Paul "Triple H" Levesque took to social media to acknowledge Bayer Leverkusen’s undefeated run in the Bundesliga 2023/24 season. In the post, WWE showcased a custom WWE Heavyweight Championship belt featuring the Bayer 04 logo.
The team led by Xabi Alonso surprised the football world with their historic 51-game unbeaten run, which led to their first-ever Bundesliga title win, ending Bayern Munich’s winning streak. WWE Chief Content Officer and former wrestler Triple H shared the first glimpse of the special belt through a post on his social media accounts.
Leverkusen’s dream run ended recently against Atlanta as the club lost UEFA Europa League final at the score line of 0-3 on May 23rd in Dublin, this also put an end to their hope for a Treble. In that post, WWE also wished Bayer Leverkusen good luck for their DFB Pokal final against FC Kaiserslautern. This is not the first time that WWE has shown such a gesture to a football club. In the 2017/18 season, they sent a similar belt to the Premier League champions, Manchester City.
Bayer Leverkusen has responded with a special video featuring Bayer 04’s midfielder Robert Andrich. The German side posted an unboxing of the belt with their players Victor Boniface and Edmond Tapsoba.
