There are some picks in League of Legends you only see in solo queue, but 100 Thieves picked out a special champion on stage which caused quite a commotion.

There are some champions and picks that don't see the light of day in professional League of Legends. While Teemo might be in every third bronze game, the little Yordle is hardly ever seen in high MMR and pro play. Same goes for picks like Master Yi and Katarina as well.

In the most recent LCS weekend on March 10, 2024 100 Thieves faced off against NRG in a nail biter of a game. In this match 100 Thieves brought out an uncommon jungler that hasn't been played in pro play for 7-years. Shaco.

League of Legends: 100 Thieves Win With Shaco Jungle

In the final match of the LCS Spring regular season 100 Thieves had to face none other than NRG, who managed to beat G2 Esports at the 2023 League of Legends World Championship, earning themselves a spot in the Worlds playoff bracket. In the final game 100 Thieves, already guaranteed a spot in the LCS playoffs, decided to pick Shaco for jungler Kim "River" Dong-woo.

This is the first Shaco pick in the LCS since 2017, when FlyQuest's Galen "Moon" Holgate gave the champ a try. That means it's been around 7-years since we've last seen the pick in the professional scene. While the pick hadn't seen any success in 2017, it finally seemed to work in the hands of River in 2024.

While most fans can admit that Shaco played little to no role in the 100 Thieves win, the champion is still iconic to see on the big stage. There was one fight in the jungle around the 22-minute mark where the champion managed to truly make a difference.

Shaco finished the game with a score of 1/2/8 and 100 Thieves managed to reach the second place in the LCS, right behind FlyQuest. In the post-game interview, River explained that he had tried Shaco in solo queue and thought it's strong. If we see the champion again in the 2024 LCS is yet to be seen, but could be a pocket pick to blindside opponents with in the future.
