Apex Legends has long been one of the best and most popular battle royale games out there. Respawn has worked tirelessly to create a great game with interesting characters and fun narrative, but we never truly get to experience it because the game is "just a BR".

Well, all that might change. At the Morgan Stanley Technology, Media & Telecom Conference on March 6, EA CEO Andrew Wilson outlined their plans for the future of Apex Legends.

Apex Legends To Expand With New Projects

During the conference, Wilson revealed that Apex Legends has become one of the best live service games of the last 10 to 15 years with a player retention of 75%. That's pretty insane. But EA doesn't just want to stop there. They want Apex to become even bigger to stand alongside other giants like Epic Games' Fortnite.

To do that, EA is planning to add some more modes to the game, but Wilson did not specify what these modes could look like in the future. We are also unsure whether they're going to be permanent modes like what Fortnite has created with LEGO Fortnite.

But job number one for us is, how do we make that a little more new player friendly? And that’s what you’re starting to see, you’re starting to see it with Season 20, which is really built around how do we drive more acquisition and more engagement.

Wilson also stated that in 2024 they want to make Apex Legends more approachable for new gamers as well, which is how they would be able to attain even more engaged players for the future.

Alongside those changes they also want to garner a wider reach with their "third phase" as Wilson put it. EA is looking specifically in Europe and certain parts of Asia where they want to expand the IP to.

Overall, Apex Legends is not slowing down and going to keep growing. Which unique new modes would you want to see get added in 2024?
