HBO's search for a new trio of child actors has begun. Who will take on the roles of Harry Potter, Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley?
The new Harry Potter HBO series has been the talk of the town over the last few months. Even actors from the original movie series have given their take on the upcoming HBO show.
Now, HBO has officially started the hunt for some new talent, to take on the roles of the iconic trio, Harry, Ron, and Hermione.
Casting Call Until April 2025
The open casting call was posted yesterday, and is aimed exclusively at children who live in the UK and Ireland. The post hints at a possible starting point for the filming of the show, since the actors have to be between 9 and 11 years old in April 2025.
And as you'd expect, fans have already begun picking their ideal actors for other roles in the show (you can see the whole thread here).
One user wants to see Cillian Murphy as Tom Riddle/Voldemort, since they think that he could carry the show as a villain pretty well. Another user wants Benedict Cumberbatch as Voldemort.
Some people would like to see actors from the original series return, for example Tom Felton (Draco Malfoy) as Lucius Malfoy, or Rupert Grint (Ron Weasley) as one of Ron's older brothers.
Though, the majority of comments suggest fans want to see new faces, rather than ones we already know.
What do you think? Who would you want to see as a Harry Potter character?
