About two years ago, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson promised a change in the "hierarchy of power in the DC universe" with the release of Black Adam. And then… nothing.

The movie fell far short of expectations, failing to impress either comic book fans or the general audience with the antihero’s debut, and the DCEU experienced yet another flop.

However, quitting isn't one of the former wrestler's strengths, so he now teased an upcoming project with none other than JJ Abrams and Zak Penn.

He posted a photo of a dinner with them on Instagram with the caption:

Years in the making - we finally broke bread, we drank, we laughed, got a lil' drunk (maybe that was just me ) we talked life stuff, love stuff, dude stuff and took our time chopping up our passion for movies and storytelling. Then we all raised a glass and toasted to…. yup, this one is gonna be fun. JJ & DJ from the mind of Zak Penn.
"…tonight, it comes to life…"

Even though the whole thing seems vague and cryptic, fans quickly drew their conclusions, speculating about a new superhero movie project. This is not just wishful thinking, though, since Penn is known for not only X2 and X-Men: The Last Stand, but also for co-writing The Avengers and the 2008 Hulk film.

JJ Abrams, is likewise known for going large, even though — like The Rock with Black Adam — he’s likely still licking the wounds after Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.

What do you think about another attempt by The Rock to be the star of a superhero movie? Surely he can crack the code?
