Max Verstappen Says He May Never Win Another F1 Title

Max Verstappen, one of the best F1 players, admits that he might not win another F1 title as his team, Red Bull is way behind rivals in 2025.

Max Verstappen might be ready to leave his legacy behind, as the player, who recently became the fifth driver in F1 history to win four consecutive titles, is now facing one of the toughest champions. And now he's not sure that he'll ever win another F1 championship title.

Verstappen Reflects on His Career

In 2024, Max was unstoppable. He beat everyone, including McLaren’s Lando Norris and broke all kinds of records, like 19 wins in one season and 10 wins in a row (from Miami to Monza that same year). But in 2025? Not the same story.

Right now, Verstappen Max is in third place in the rankings. He’s 104 points behind Oscar Piastri and 70 points behind Norris. And with only 9 races left, it’s going to be really hard for him to catch up.

When ESPN asked Max about it, he said, “I think this has already been more than I could have ever dreamed of, you know, back in the day. So, of course, I'm very happy and proud of what I have achieved so far, and you never know, maybe you will not win a championship again. That's something that can happen, but it's not really on my mind.” Pretty cool attitude, right?

Verstappen on his future: New Challenges, New Goals

Max has always said he doesn’t want to race forever. He even joked that he won’t keep going until he’s 44 years old like Fernando Alonso. Now that he’s a new dad, he misses spending time with family. And with 24 races in a year, F1 is a lot of work!

Still, at 27, he’s far from done. Even though some teams (like Mercedes) tried to get him for 2026, Max is sticking with Red Bull until 2028. But he knows that in 2026, the rules in F1 will change, and that could shake things up.

Maybe Red Bull will stay strong or maybe a different team will take over. Nobody knows yet.

Apart from this, Verstappen Max doesn’t just want to drive forever. He’s also thinking about being a manager or mentor for a racing team someday. He said he has a lot of ideas, but he won’t need to be totally involved in everything.

He even laughed and said, “At one point you will get slower with age and then maybe it's better to put the young guys in… because you don't want to also look like an idiot!”

Well, what Max decides is absolutely up to him, but his story reminds us that even champions have ups and downs. He’s not quitting, but he’s being honest. He may not win forever, and that’s okay. He’s proud of what he’s done, and now he’s looking ahead to new things, on and off the track.

So whether he wins another title or not, Max Verstappen is still one of the best. And he’s showing everyone that success isn’t just about trophies, it’s also about knowing when to chase new dreams.
