FNCS Global Championship 2024: Major Qualification, Participation & Schedule
The FNCS in 2024 is in duo format and is once again divided into three majors that took place over several weeks. You must have reached at least Platinum I rank in Ranked Battle Royale to participate in Open Qualification 1 or Open Qualification 2.
In Major 1, Major 2, and Major 3, you compete against other Fortnite competitors in your player-search region, earning Series points based on your performance.
At the end of each weekly competition section of the FNCS Majors, each duo that participated received Series points based on their performance and ranking that week. The top teams then advance to the semifinals. However, only a certain number of teams can advance to the semifinals:
If you qualify for the semifinals, it is also decided whether your duo will compete in Round 1 in the lower branch of the semifinals or in Round 1 in the upper branch of the semifinals of the Major.
To qualify for Round 1 in the upper branch of the semifinals, your duo must be ranked 1st to 50th on the Series Points leaderboard. This round consists of five matches with a fixed lobby.
The winning duos of each match directly advance to the Grand Finals, while duos in positions 6 to 25 advance to Round 2 of the upper branch of the semifinals. Duos in positions 26 to 50 advance to Round 2 of the lower branch of the semifinals.
Round 1
To qualify for Round 1 in the lower branch of the semifinals, your duo must be ranked 51st to 250th on the Series Points leaderboard. This round consists of ten matches with an open lobby.
You advance to Round 2 of the upper branch of the semifinals if your duo is ranked 1st to 30th after these matches. If your duo is ranked 31st to 205th, you advance to Round 2 of the lower branch of the semifinals.
Round 2
Round 2 of the upper branch of the semifinals consists of five matches with a fixed lobby. The winning duos of each match directly advance to the Grand Finals, while duos in positions 6 to 25 – after all five matches – advance to Round 3 of the upper branch of the semifinals, where they get another chance to qualify for the Grand Finals.
Duos in positions 26 to 50 advance to Round 3 of the lower branch of the semifinals. Round 2 of the lower branch of the semifinals consists of ten matches with an open lobby. To advance to Round 3 of the upper branch of the semifinals, you must land in positions 1 to 30. Duos with a lower placement are eliminated from the Major.
Round 3
Round 3 in the upper and lower branches of the semifinals consists of three matches with a fixed lobby. If your duo lands in positions 1 to 25 in Round 3 of the upper branch of the semifinals, you advance to the Grand Finals. If you compete in Round 3 of the lower branch of the semifinals, you must land in positions 1 to 15 to qualify for the Grand Finals. Duos that cannot achieve these placements will be eliminated from the Major.
Grand Finals
The Grand Finals of each Major take place over two days, with participants participating in up to six matches within a three-hour time window on both days.
Qualifying for the FNCS Global Championship 2024 depends on the points accumulated on these two days. On the second day, you receive 1.5 times the amount of points for eliminations and placements.
