You’ll experience a lot in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. Bloody sword fights, drunken Cumans, ruthless bandits. But this? This is the peak of medieval culinary crime: the secret sauerkraut dealer. And he operates with a method so cunning it puts the most notorious thieves to shame – he steals cabbage.

The Man With The World's Finest Sauerkraut

If you wander through the southern part of the map and keep an eye out for strange details, you’ll eventually notice something odd. There’s cabbage on the ground. Follow the trail, and you’ll end up in a cave. And there he is. The Sauerkraut Guru. The Fermentation Prophet. The Cabbage Criminal – Sauerkraut Pepa.

As soon as you talk to him, it becomes clear: this is no ordinary thief. No – this man is an artist. He openly admits to being the infamous cabbage phantom thief, but – and here comes the plot twist – he doesn’t do it out of malice. No, his mother told him that he makes the best sauerkraut in the world. And what can you do? If Mama says so, it must be true.

The Decision: Betray Or Ally?

Now you face a choice that probably carries deeper moral implications than some religious crises: Do you turn in the man whose only crime is excessive use of lactic acid fermentation, or do you let him be? The answer is obvious – you let him continue. And not just out of kindness, but because the reward is more than worth it.

If you stay loyal, he’ll gift you 15 portions of his sacred sauerkraut as a token of gratitude. But it gets even better: You can bring him fresh cabbages (over 50% freshness) anytime, and he’ll transform them into golden – well, greenish – delicacies. For each cabbage, you’ll get 5 portions of sauerkraut. And this stuff is the true treasure of the Middle Ages.

The Miracle of Sauerkraut

  • Weighs nothing, so you can stack infinite amounts.
  • Never spoils.
  • Restores +2 nourishment and +10 health, perfect after a brawl with some bandits.
  • Grants a +1 vitality buff that lasts unusually long.
  • Can be sold for a high price – perfect for the EarlyGame (ha, ha).

So forget gold, forget armor – the true path to success in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 lies in the power of fermented cabbage. Thank you, Mama Sauerkraut Dealer, for blessing us with this gift.
