SuperGaming, the Pune-based game development studio behind the popular Indus Battle Royale, has raised $15 million (approx INR 131 crore) in a Series B funding round. This new investment, which comes after their $5.5 million Series A in 2021, values the company at around $100 million and marks a major step in their growth journey.

Strong Global Investor Backing

The round saw participation from top-tier global investors like a16z Speedrun, Bandai Namco 021 Fund, GFR Fund, IVC Japan, Neowiz from Korea, and Loud.GG from Brazil.

Notably, Web3 leaders such as Polygon Ventures, Sandeep Nailwal, and several blockchain-focused funds also joined in. Returning backers, including lead investor SkyCatcher, AET Japan, and BACE Capital, reaffirmed their confidence in SuperGaming’s vision by participating again.

Industry leaders praised the studio’s achievements, with Ed Fries, Co-Creator of Microsoft Game Studios and Co-Founder of Xbox, highlighting that SuperGaming has already proven its execution by launching games instead of just pitching ideas. Bandai Namco’s Natsuhiro Maruyama also noted the synergy between their global IP expertise and SuperGaming’s deep understanding of India’s gaming market.

Expanding Indus Battle Royale Globally

One of the key uses of the fresh funding will be to expand Indus Battle Royale into new markets, starting with Latin America through a partnership with Loud.GG. LATAM’s vibrant mobile gaming and esports culture makes it an ideal first step in their global rollout strategy.

Indus, which recently won Google Play’s “Best Made in India” award for 2024, has already achieved over 9 million downloads across Android and iOS.

Strengthening SuperPlatform

A major focus of the Series B funding is scaling SuperPlatform, SuperGaming’s proprietary cloud-based backend built with Google Cloud. This platform offers AI-assisted development, monetization tools, analytics, and social systems to help developers build and manage large-scale multiplayer games, even for lower-end devices in emerging markets.

CEO and Co-Founder Roby John emphasized that their mission goes beyond making games—they want to provide the tech backbone for developers worldwide, enabling both Web2 and Web3 integration. Their partnership with B3 GameChain and experience from titles like Tower Conquest: Metaverse Edition show their commitment to innovative player experiences.

SuperGaming also plans to use the funds to scale its development team, create new original IPs, and strengthen partnerships with publishers. Their portfolio already includes hits like MaskGun, Battle Stars, Tower Conquest, and Silly Royale, which together have surpassed 200 million installs.

With over 120 employees across Pune and Singapore, the studio is positioning itself as a global gaming powerhouse from India. The combination of cutting-edge technology, a strong product lineup, and strategic global expansion puts SuperGaming in a strong position to shape the future of gaming both in India and beyond.
