The Indian gaming industry is continuously flourishing with new games and developers, but a few are making the country proud on a global scale, one such developer being SuperGaming. While they have a popular cloud-based game development engine called SuperPlatform, SuperGaming is mostly known for its game portfolio, which includes the multiplayer first-person shooter MaskGun and the social deduction game Silly Royale. Now their latest venture is "Indus," a unique battle royale with an Indo-futuristic theme coming for consoles, mobile, and PC.

Seems interesting right? Here we will see how the devs are creating blockbuster hits one after the other, their early history, new projects, and their impact on the Indian industry.

About SuperGaming and Roby John

Founded by Roby John, Navneet Waraich, Sanket Nadhani, Christelle D’cruz, and Sreejit Jayanthan, in 2017, SuperGaming has carved a niche for itself by developing engaging games that resonate with players across the globe.

Roby John, a seasoned veteran in the gaming world, has been instrumental in the SuperGaming studio's success as he has been associated with the gaming industry for more than eight years now. Holding a BTech from the College of Engineering, Pune, he spent five years as the CEO of TaptoLearn, an educational gaming startup. He then started June Gaming, a studio that later joined forces with SuperGaming.

Now, with a plethora of titles across mobile and PC, SuperGaming Studio has truly developed some of the most interesting titles and gained much recognition in the gaming industry. They have built games like MaskGun, Tower Conquest, and Battle Stars, and now they are focusing on Indus, an Indo-futuristic Battle Royale, which has amassed 10M pre-registrations until now.

Indus Battle Royale: Current Focus of SuperGaming

As mentioned already, SuperGaming is currently working on a fully made-in-India Battle Royale game titled “Indus”. This ambitious project targets platforms including mobile, console, and PC. Moreover, the goal of SuperGaming's Indus is to provide players with an immersive and innovative gaming experience by building a futuristic society amidst Indian art, culture, and civilization.

Well, as video games become more widely available, "battle royale" has emerged as one of the most well-liked game genres in the Indian market. Thus, for the same reason every character in Indus Battle Royale, called "Mythwalker," has special powers (similar to Apex Mobile) derived from Hindu mythology.

In the game, you are a hired gun for COVEN, an extraterrestrial organization that found the ancient yet highly advanced planet Indus, and, Virlok, an ever-changing island map, serves as the backdrop for all of the action in Indus. The game also introduces innovative extraction shooter mechanics through "Cosmium," offering players alternative win conditions beyond traditional battle royale gameplay.

However, the efforts of SuperGaming are to be commended here, as because of their continuous efforts to hold playtests and esports contests, they are able to actively foster a collaborative development strategy, and keep players hyped up for the game.

Notable Hits by SuperGaming: MaskGun and Silly Royale

Well, the fact is, SuperGaming is no stranger to success. Their games, such as MaskGun and Silly Royale, have garnered a massive player base. MaskGun boasts an impressive 70 million players, while Silly Royale has captured the hearts of more than 17 million gaming enthusiasts.

Not only these, Tower Conquest also has more than 15 million players with Battle Stars amassing a total of 10 million players. And all these titles showcase SuperGaming’s commitment to creating immersive experiences that keep players coming back for more.

Innovations by SuperGaming: SuperPlatform

Apart from its games, SuperGaming’s secret sauce lies in its engine platform called SuperPlatform. When the pandemic hit in early 2020 and people were confused about what to do, gaming emerged as a powerful platform for connecting communities. SuperGaming recognized this and created SuperPlatform.

The technology, which was unveiled in 2022 in partnership with Google Cloud, enables game developers to create games entirely from scratch using the engine as a SaaS (Software as a Service). It also manages analytics, tracks player data, and monetary transactions, and integrates with games created with Unity, Unreal Engine, PlayCanvas, and Cocos Creator.

With this technology, SuperGaming aims to develop global, hyper-scale, and real-time multiplayer games. Their vision extends beyond borders, and they’re committed to delivering high-quality gaming experiences that transcend geographical boundaries.

Overall, their growth trajectory and commitment to excellence have positioned them as a formidable player in the Indian gaming landscape. Whether it’s battling it out in the virtual arena or creating memorable gaming experiences, SuperGaming continues to push boundaries and redefine the gaming industry. So, do keep an eye out for “Indus’ by SuperGaming as it might just be the next big game changer in the Indian gaming market.
