Team Soul has added Skipz and Saumay to their BGMI roster in the hope of bouncing back in the upcoming BGMI tournaments.
Team Soul, one of the biggest names in the Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) esports scene, has officially added two new players to its roster: Skipz and Saumay. This announcement, made on October 9, 2024, comes at a time when Team Soul is looking to rebuild and bounce back after some recent setbacks in major tournaments.
Who Are Skipz and Saumay in BGMI Esports?
Skipz, whose real name is Amaan Shaikh, is a well-known player in the BGMI community. He has previously played for teams like Team iNSANE, Blind Esports, and Gujarat Tigers. He first gained attention in 2022 while playing for Team iNSANE, helping them finish third in the BMPS 2023. His consistent performance over the years, especially in high-pressure situations, has earned him a spot on Team Soul, one of the top BGMI teams in India.
Before joining Team Soul, Skipz also played a key role in helping Blind Esports secure third place in the Skyesports Champions Series 2024. Now, as part of Team Soul, he aims to contribute to the team's success and achieve even bigger milestones.
On the other hand, Saumay Anand, who goes by the name Saumay in the gaming world, has been playing with Team Soul for several months but was only officially added to the roster now. He was initially brought in as a trial player during the BGMI Masters Series (BGMS) Season 3. In that tournament, he delivered promising performances, helping Team Soul win the championship. His strong showing during this trial period earned him a permanent spot on the team.
Team Soul’s Current Roster
With the addition of Skipz and Saumay, Team Soul’s roster now looks like this:
- Mohammad “Manya” Raja - In-Game Leader (IGL)
- Nakul “Nakul” Sharma - Assaulter
- Manpreet “Rony” Singh - Assaulter
- Saumay “Saumay” Anand - Assaulter
- Amaan “Skipz” Shaikh - Assaulter
Manya continues to lead the team as the IGL, with Nakul and Rony also playing important roles in the lineup. Together, this five-man squad is expected to bring fresh energy to the team as they look to bounce back from their recent struggles.
To further strengthen the team, Sid Joshi, also known as Sid, has been reappointed as the manager of Team Soul. Sid is known for his strict discipline and strategic planning, and his return is seen as a positive move for the team. Sid previously managed Team Soul when they won the BMPS Season 1 trophy, and fans are eager to see how he will manage the new lineup.
Why the Team Soul BGMI Roster Change?
Team Soul has faced a tough time in recent months. After winning the BGMS Season 3 in August 2024, the team suffered a major setback in the BMPS 2024, where they were eliminated early. This performance led to changes in the roster, with the team parting ways with NinjaJod, who had joined the team in August. Fans were disappointed by the results, but the management saw it as a necessary move to improve the team’s performance.
The addition of Skipz and the permanent signing of Saumay are seen as steps to strengthen the squad. Both players are young, talented assaulters with plenty of experience in competitive play. Team Soul hopes that these changes will help them perform better in upcoming tournaments.
