India’s Team GodLike had tough luck in the COD Mobile World Championship 2024 as they were knocked out during the playoffs, finishing in fifth place overall and earning $40,000 in prize money.
India's popular esports team, Team GodLike, has been knocked out of the COD Mobile World Championship 2024. After an impressive second-place finish in 2023, many had high hopes for the team this year, but they couldn't quite meet expectations. Their journey ended during the playoffs after a tough loss to XROCK. Although they managed to finish in fifth place overall and earned $40,000 in prize money, it was still a disappointing outcome for both the team and their fans.
Team GodLike's Performance in CODM 2024
The COD Mobile World Championship 2024 took place in Atlanta, USA, from October 4 to 6, featuring 16 teams. By the end of Day 2, 12 teams had been eliminated, and Team GodLike made it to the playoffs as one of the final eight teams. However, they couldn't push further to claim the title.
Their tournament run began in the Swiss Stage, where they faced some of the best teams in the world. Unfortunately, their journey was marked by ups and downs. In their first match, they lost to Elevate 1-2 but quickly bounced back with a win against Supreme Team. This victory kept their hopes alive, but their struggles continued when they faced another loss to the Galorys Company. Despite these setbacks, GodLike managed to win their next two matches and secured a spot in the playoffs.
In the quarterfinals, GodLike came up against XROCK, but things didn't go well. They were swept 0-3, losing all three matches and ending their run in the tournament.
XROCK's Dominance
XROCK showed incredible dominance in their match against GodLike. In the first game, they won by 50 points in Hardpoint. The second game, Search & Destroy, saw GodLike lose 1-7, and in the final game, Control, XROCK secured a 3-1 victory, knocking GodLike out of the competition.
With such a strong performance, XROCK is now one of the favorites to win the championship. They will be facing Qing Jiu Club in the semifinals, while Galorys Company will take on Elevate. Both matchups are expected to be fierce as the teams battle for a place in the grand finals and a chance to win the $400,000 prize.
A Tough Year for Indian Teams in CoD Esports
Team GodLike wasn’t the only Indian team competing this year. Team Vitality also represented India in CODM 2024, but they were eliminated on the first day of the event. Both teams had high expectations but couldn't secure a top spot, leaving the Indian COD Mobile community disappointed.

The 2024 tournament wasn't easy for other top teams either. Wolves Esports, the defending champions from China, were knocked out by Elevate in the playoffs. Other big names like Luminosity Gaming and Stalwart Esports also struggled and were eliminated before the finals.
Overall, despite the early exit of the Indian teams, finishing in the top five was still a solid achievement for Team GodLike, even if it didn’t match their runner-up finish from last year.
