Qualified Teams for Free Fire World Series 2024 Global Finals
The Global Finals is the big finish of a long worldwide tournament, with regional qualifiers happening right now to pick the rest of the teams. So far, two teams have already secured their spots:
- Team Falcons from Thailand qualified by winning the Free Fire World Cup in July 2024 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The World Cup used the same format as the upcoming World Series.
- WASK from the Middle East earned their spot by winning their regional tournament.
The other 16 teams will be announced in the next few weeks as the regional qualifiers wrap up.
Well, the Free Fire World Series is still a big hit in the esports world, even though the number of viewers has gone up and down. Back in 2021, the Global Finals reached 5.4 million peak viewers, making it the second most-watched esports event ever. But in 2023, the peak viewers dropped to 570,515. Still, there’s a lot of excitement for the upcoming event, especially since it’s returning to Rio de Janeiro, and there could be some new surprises.
Garena, the company behind Free Fire, decided to rebrand its regional tournaments under the World Series name and made the tournament structure the same everywhere. This change makes it easier for fans around the world to keep up with all the matches. And this year, the event is expected to be bigger than ever because there’s a new mid-season event where the winner goes straight to the Global Finals.
