Skyesports has revealed its big plans for Counter-Strike 2 esports in 2025, announcing four huge tournaments with a total prize pool of $1.75 million. This year-long series includes three Tier 1 events and one Tier 2 event, all happening on LAN in India. This is a big step for Skyesports as it wants to become more known in the global esports world.
And here are all the details on the Skyesports 2025 CS2 tournaments including their dates, tier, prize pool, format, and more.
Skyesports 2025 Counter-Strike 2 Events
The Skyesports 2025 Counter-Strike 2 calendar is packed with four events:
CS2 2025 EVENTS | DATES | TIER | PRIZE POOL |
---|---|---|---|
Skyesports Souvenir 2025 | Feb. 17-23, 2025 | Tier 2 | $250,000 |

The Tier 1 events will have open qualifiers in four regions—India, Europe, the Americas, and the Rest of Asia. These events are made to follow Valve's idea of an open system, letting teams from different places compete on the global stage.
Skyesports Souvenir 2025 Tournament
The Skyesports Souvenir 2025 will start the year with a Tier 2 event. This competition won’t have open qualifiers, but it will have 12 teams. The top four teams from Valve's regional rankings will go straight into the main event.
The other eight teams will play in an online closed qualifier from January 20 to January 26, 2025, on European servers. To keep things fair, Skyesports will pay for travel and accommodation for teams not bootcamping in Europe, so everyone has the same ping. In the Closed Qualifier, the eight teams will be divided into two groups of four. They will play in a GSL-style format, and the top 2 teams from each group will move to the Main Event.
The main event will have four invited teams and four teams from the closed qualifiers, competing in a double-elimination bracket. The prize pool for this event is $250,000, and it will be split like this:
- 1st place: $100,000
- 2nd place: $50,000
- 3rd place: $35,000
- 4th place: $25,000
- 5th-6th place: $12,500 each
- 7th-8th place: $7,500 each
Skyesports 2025 Counter-Strike 2 Tier 1 Events: Masters, Championship, and World Tour
The three Tier 1 events are the Skyesports Masters, Skyesports Championship, and Skyesports World Tour. These tournaments will have a similar structure, starting with open qualifiers in different regions. Up to 256 teams from each region will compete in single-elimination brackets, and the winners will move to the closed qualifiers.
In the closed qualifiers, the top 16 teams from Valve’s regional standings will be invited, and the top four will go straight to the main event. The other 12 teams will fight against four open qualifier winners to get the last spots in the main event.
In the main event, teams will play in two stages—a league stage and then the playoffs. The playoffs will end with a best-of-five final to decide the champion.

Now, even though the Skyesports 2025 Counter-Strike 2 roadmap is a big step for the company, it also has some challenges. Other big organizers like PGL, StarLadder, and BLAST might have events at the same time, making it hard for teams to choose which tournament to join. But Skyesports has shown it can adapt and host high-quality tournaments, so there are high chance that the teams will go with Skyesports tournaments.
In summary, the Skyesports 2025 Counter-Strike 2 roadmap promises an exciting year for esports fans and players. With four big tournaments and a prize pool of $1.75 million, Skyesports is set to become even more important in global esports. As these events happen, fans can look forward to thrilling competitions, new champions, and maybe even some surprises.
