Fortnite Chapter 6 has kicked off with a bang, introducing fresh, permanent game modes like Fortnite OG and Ballistic, dropping a full-scale Godzilla onto the island, and fully embracing the Hatsune Miku era.

But with Chapter 6 Season 2 on the horizon, players are eager to see what Epic Games has in store next. With only a few days left until the new season begins, let’s dive into everything we know so far, including leaks, rumors, and potential battle pass skins.
When Does Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 2 Start?
The current season is set to conclude on February 22, 2025, 8AM CET, based on Fortnite’s in-game timer. That means Chapter 6 Season 2 is expected to begin shortly after, likely within a few hours of downtime following the end of Season 1.
While Epic Games hasn’t officially announced an in-game event to close out the season, recent file updates from January 31 hint at something significant. Data miners have discovered several new assets pointing to a live finale event of some kind. One of the biggest clues comes from an NPC named Daigo, who has been battling demons in Nightshift Forest throughout the season. He has now relocated to an unused portal near Warrior’s Watch, which seems to be the focal point for the season’s climax. What this event will entail remains a mystery, but it’s clear that Epic is setting up for something big.
Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 2 Theme & Battle Pass
While leaks regarding the Season 2 battle pass are scarce, a major clue about the upcoming season’s theme has surfaced. According to reports, Chapter 6 Season 2 will revolve around a heist theme - something Fortnite has explored multiple times in the past, including in Chapter 4’s "Most Wanted" season. This isn’t too surprising, considering Chapter 6 has already echoed some Chapter 4 elements, like its feudal Japan-inspired biome and the Seaport City area, which feels like an early version of Mega City. Bringing back a heist concept makes sense, and it will be interesting to see how Epic differentiates this season from past crime-themed updates.

Epic Games co-founder Mark Rein has continued his tradition of teasing each season with a single word. For Season 12, that word is “pickled”. While it’s unclear what this means, speculation suggests a connection to the Kappa Kappa Pickle Factory, which was recently added to the map. Several posters inside the factory depict what appears to be a pickled version of Peely, so players may see a pickle-themed skin in the battle pass.

Leaked Collabs: Avatar, Iron Man, and WWE?
Although no official Season 2 skins have leaked yet, multiple rumored collaborations could make their way into the battle pass or item shop in the coming weeks.
- James Cameron’s Avatar: Reports suggest that skins based on the Avatar franchise could be in the works. Whether this means Jake Sully, Neytiri, or other characters will be included remains unknown.
- Customizable Iron Man Skin: A brand-new Iron Man skin has been rumored, and this one might be customizable. This is a stark contrast to the Iron Man Mk. 45 skin that appeared in the item shop last fall with no additional style options.
- Captain America Crossover: Since Captain America: Brave New World releases on February 14, it wouldn’t be surprising to see more Captain America-themed content arrive in Fortnite shortly after.
- WWE Collaboration: Fortnite has been heavily advertising during WWE events, including Monday Night RAW, Royal Rumble, and the upcoming Elimination Chamber in March. Given that WWE skins haven’t been in the item shop for over seven months, a new batch of wrestling content could be on the way.

Aside from new collaborations, Epic Games may be expanding customization options for cosmetics. A recent update allowed players to equip Festival guitars and other instruments as pickaxes and back blings, increasing their overall usefulness. Now, leaks indicate that Epic is experimenting with a similar feature for shoes. This would allow players to use custom kicks from certain skins on other characters. For instance, if you own the Green Roots Billie skin, you could equip her green and black Air Force 1 Mids as a wearable cosmetic across all skins. This could open the door for brand collaborations with Nike, Adidas, and other footwear giants.
Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 2 is shaping up to be another massive update with a possible heist theme, a mystery live event, and exciting collaborations on the horizon. Whether we see a pickle-themed Peely, an Avatar crossover, or WWE legends, one thing is certain: Epic Games isn’t slowing down anytime soon.
