The AVGN is working on a game you can actually play on the NES.

The old-school YouTube icon AVGN just announced his own 8-bit NES game.
James Rolfe, better known as the Angry Video Game Nerd, was one of the first big content creators, beginning his journey back in 2006 redefining the idea of reviewing games in video format.
His appeal as a foul-mouthed nerd bashing classic video games gathered a followership of over 3.9 million users, while his videos featured some major guest stars like Macaulay Culkin.
His success even gave him the opportunity to appear in the Gozilla vs. Kong movie, which he ended up turning down.
While Rolfe already starred in a few games, this is the first time he will be featured on an official NES cartridge.
He’s gonna bring you back to the past...
On January 22, Rolfe posted on X (formerly Twitter) that a new AVGN game is in the making.
When I was a kid, I never imagined I'd be in an actual NES game on a real cartridge. You can play it on your NES or modern systems. Wishlist on Steam today! @Retroware pic.twitter.com/5h6wxCvuqt

When I was a kid, I never imagined I’d be in an actual NES game on a real cartridge. You can play it on your NES or modern systems.
In a short AVGN video on his YouTube-Channel he showcases the game, explaining: "It doesn’t just look like an 8-bit game, it is an 8-bit game, made for actual NES hardware. Talk about going back to the past."
While the teaser shows gameplay on a real NES, AVGN 8-Bit will be available on Steam, Nintendo Switch, Xbox, and PlayStation 4 and 5 as well.
A release date hasn’t been announced yet, but it is more than likely that once we get a launch date, Rolfe will tell us in a new AVGN episode.
Have you watched AVGN back in the days? And do you even still have a NES for the full nostalgia blast?
