EWC 2024 Week 1 has wrapped up and we have brought you highlights from all the matches held in the first week of the tournament.
The first week of the Esports World Cup 2024 (EWC 2024) just finished, and there were some big surprises.
T1 and Team Falcons did really well in League of Legends and Warzone. In Mobile Legends, Fnatic ONIC didn't make it to the playoffs, which was unexpected. Also, in the Riyadh Masters preliminary rounds, Blacklist International surprisingly beat several top teams.

EWC 2024 Week 1 Highlights: League of Legends, Warzone, MLBB, and Dota 2
EWC 2024: League of Legends Invitational
T1 from South Korea won the League of Legends Esports World Cup Invitational. They competed against seven other top teams from around the world over four days.
In the final match, T1 beat China’s Top Esports 3-1 to clinch the championship and add another trophy to their wins.
Nothing shocking on the surface, but when you dig a little deeper, League of Legends is really big right now. And with the exceptional performances of the best player of the game, MVP Faker, T1 defeated the Chinese opponent to secure the trophy in the finals. Now with recent reports of the team struggling this year, they had this opportunity to build momentum, and they really outdid themselves.
EWC 2024: Warzone Cup
Team Falcons won the Call of Duty Warzone tournament at EWC 2024.
Team Falcons dominated Call of Duty: Warzone from start to finish. With a lead of over 100 points in the group stage and victories over second-placed Fnatic and third-placed Twisted Minds, the Falcons trio of MVP Shifty, Hisoka, and Biffle lived up to their reputation as an elite roster.
They earned 1,000 club points and a cash prize of $200,000. They scored 255.2 points, beating Team Abwizz by almost 100 points.
EWC 2024: MLBB: Mid-Season Cup 2024
In the first-ever million-dollar MLBB tournament, 16 teams from around the world competed in the group stage.
The Indonesian team Fnatic ONIC, expected to advance to the playoffs, surprisingly did not. Instead, teams from Cambodia (See You Soon) and Turkey (Fire Flux Esports) moved on.
The teams advancing to the next stage of the MLBB MidSeason Cup at EWC 2024 include NIP Flash, Fireflux Esports, Selangor Red Giants, See You Soon, Liquid Echo, Hoomebois Falcons, Apbren, and Falcon Esports.
EWC 2024: Dota 2 Riyadh Masters
During the Dota 2 Riyadh Masters 2024 play-in stage, Filipino team Blacklist International won against strong teams like China’s LDG gaming, G2 x iG, and Europe’s Virtus.pro with a score of 2-0 each.
They lost 0-2 to Entity but still made it to the group stage.
Currently, Virtus.pro, nouns, G2 x iG, and Azure Ray are out of the competition.
The first week of EWC 2024 has started off as an exciting tournament. There are more games and matches coming up, so esports fans worldwide have plenty to be excited about in the weeks ahead.
