What happens in Los Santos doesn't stay in Los Santos: GTA roleplay destroys marriage

Role-playing in GTA 5 Online can be pretty cool - at least until it messes with real life. Especially for streamers who take their digital escapades a little too seriously. For former e-sports pro John Paul Lopez, a.k.a. "KingCaffeine," this has become a nightmare.

GTA 5 Online has launched a lot of careers, especially thanks to the huge popularity of role-playing streams. But sometimes GTA RP gets a little too real, as KingCaffeine experienced firsthand when he shared a rather awkward family moment on X.

GTA RP: Just a bit fun, or something more serious?

The former esports pro and his wife, Twitch streamer DivaJilly, had been engaging in, shall we say, "spicy roleplaying" on the nopixel GTA RP server. But KingCaffeine found out that his wife was cheating on him with her RP partner. Sounds like a bad Black Mirror episode.

The affair didn't just happen in the game. It started online, but then they met in real life at TwitchCon in San Diego. KingCaffeine provided some screenshots as proof - you might as well go all the way.

The drama really began when KingCaffeine realized it wasn't all fun and games, as he had been assured for months. What began as roleplaying ended with explicit messages - not only between his wife and Moonmoon, but with others in the RP community as well. The RP bubble burst.

Moonmoon? He stayed cool. On Twitch and Discord, he said: "The chick told me she was in an open marriage. Not my problem." Very classy.

He casually mentioned that he had been separated for two months. "TwitchCon was fun," he added - well, I'm glad that's the takeaway. KingCaffeine, however, denies that the marriage was open. To him, it was a dirty game that went too far. Poor guy.
