An Xbox Partner Preview event has been announced for Thursday. Given that Hollow Knight: Silksong is coming to Game Pass Day One, and "Day One", we think it might be announced during the Xbox show.
With Xbox set to host their Partner Preview showcase of third-party games on Thursday, Hollow Knight fans are hoping for a release date for Silksong.
Silksong's release could be announced by Xbox
Team Cherry has been silent about their progress on Silksong for a very long time now, leaving fans to feed on rumor and speculation. But in this case, a release date being announced at the Partner Preview event is completely reasonable.
Especially considering that Team Cherry revealed Silksong is coming to Game Pass Day One during a previous Xbox showcase back in June 2022. At the very least, this tells us Team Cherry are happy to work with Xbox to make big announcements for Silksong.
But don't expect the release date, if given, to be late 2024. In an interview between BlueSR, a renowned Hollow Knight YouTuber, and a member of Team Cherry called Leth, they explained that it was difficult for smaller indie games to release in the later months of the year. It's the prime time for AAA games to release, and they usually overshadow indie games like Hollow Knight. Which is why Leth explained that it was better for indies to release games during the earlier months of the year.
If we don't get any more info at the Xbox Partner Preview event, then the next best opportunity will likely be The Game Awards in December.
We will all, of course, check out the Xbox Partner Preview anyway. However small the chance, anything possible! Just be prepared for disappointment.
