Jesse Keighin, better known as EveryGameGuru, is being sued by Nintendo for continuously streaming unreleased Switch games.

Nintendo doesn’t mess around when it comes to the use of emulators, as well as copyright infringement and leaks. Allegedly, there already have been quite a few takedown notices and cease-and-desist orders from Nintendo taking legal actions against Keighin for streaming games, sometimes three weeks before launch. The streamer has ignored all of these so far.

Nintendo claims that his streams are "promoting and encouraging the downloading of pirated copies of unpublished games", and that he is profiting off this behavior. And it takes specific aim at his recent behavior; EveryGameGuru played Mario & Luigi: Brothership almost three weeks before the official release, and ignored takedown requests.

However, a lawsuit might not be ignored so easily by Keighin and could bring an end to his streamer days. Allegedly, Nintendo wants to claim $150,000 in damage for each infringement, which would add up to over $7.5 million in total.

What do you think about the case? Is Nintendo too strict, or are they absolutely right to sue EveryGameGuru?
