The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion is due to be released soon – here's everything we know so far.

After a remake of the popular entry of the Elder Scrolls series, Oblivion, has been rumored several times by leakers. The latest prediction? The TES Oblivion remake is supposed to release this April.
The Gossip Factory Is Working Overtime
After rumors circulated in early April that a remake of Bethesda's Oblivion would be released without warning, it looks like it will be a reality sooner than you might expect. Apparently, the game is being developed in Unreal Engine 5 by studio Virtuous, who are currently working on the MGS3 remake "Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater". Now, images of the remastered game have been leaked, which are supposed to show the game in its new engine. It can be noted that these already indicate an official website. You can take a look at the pictures here.

Gameplay Changes
According to an anonymous Virtuos employee, the gameplay changes focus on six areas: stamina, sneaking, blocking, archery, hit reaction, and the user interface. Many of these elements were criticized at the original release and are now to be improved.
- The blocking is said to be inspired by Souls-like games, as the original system was perceived as boring and frustrating.
- Stealth icons are now highlighted in the improved stealth system.
- The stamina system has been adjusted. Changes to the calculation methods should now make knockdowns occur less frequently and thus be significantly less frustrating.
- The HUD has been adjusted to make it easier and more aesthetically pleasing for young players.
- Hit-reaction has been added to improve the response time to hits received and inflicted.
- Finally, archery is also being revised to make it more playable and modern from first and third person.

Release On Multiple Platforms According To Leakers Set For April
Now, Detective Seeds writes on X that the release is probably scheduled after the Elder Scrolls: Online event, that means in the week of April 21. Several people are cited as sources here. In case you still doubt the authenticity of the remake, Detective Seeds gives a guarantee that the whole story is real.
Look for Oblivion remake game week of April 21st after the ESO anniversary event ends. Initial info timeline was off, I own it, it happens doing this. HIGHLY confident on dropping after event concludes as it is from more than 1 person. The project is 100% real for those doubting it.
According to the leaks, the game will then be released on Playstation 5, Xbox Series S/X and PC.

Additional Details
Interestingly, the game was mentioned in a now-deleted Reddit thread two years ago. At the time, it was said that the remake was code-named “Altar”. This is exactly the name that can now be found in the title in the leaked files.
There is also speculation whether the “Wizards Tower” DLC is already integrated. Reddit users have come to this conclusion from a leaked image that shows exactly that.
It is not yet clear whether all DLCs will be available. But it would be nice to see Sheogorath's mad and insane world in Unreal Engine 5.

The Fan-made Remake Is Already Confirmed
This could be due to the fact that some fans are skeptical about a remake, as the community-driven remake “Skyblivion” is nearing completion. Volunteers have been working for over a decade to recreate Oblivion in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim engine. The release date has only recently been confirmed for 2025. Skyblivion will be a total conversion mod and free for all owners of the fifth installment. You can find out more about the project and how you can help here.
Are you hyped for a possible remake? Or are you on the side of the community that prefers to play the fan version?
