Hoshimi Miyabi is about to be released and there's a lot we can still learn about her, so let's take a look at her and her kit!
Zenless Zone Zero is going to release its version 1.4 "A Storm of Falling Stars" on December 18, so tomorrow. And with it, we will not only get a free Limited S-Rank character, but also the long awaited Hoshimi Miyabi's first Signal Search Banner!
Of course, it's best to pull for a character if you know how they work. But if you don't, here's a rundown on everything we know, taken from official sources only.
Hoshimi Miyabi's kit and gameplay
Base info
Hoshimi Miyabi is the next upcoming playable Agent in Zenless Zone Zero and the chief of the Hollow Special Operations Section 6.
As the only descendant of the famed Hoshimi family and the youngest person in New Eridu to have been awarded the title of "Void Hunter", Miyabi is sure to have incredible strength. And that seems to reflect in her gameplay as well.

Hoshimi Miyabi will be an S-Rank Frost Anomaly unit with a strong focus on dishing out large amounts of damage.
She has a unique Frost attribute and an independent Attribute Anomaly Buildup gauge. With her presence in the squad, she increases all squad member's Anomaly Buildup Rate, so that she can quickly apply Attribute Anomalies on enemies.
By triggering Disorder on enemies, Hoshimi Miyabi gains points of Fallen Frost. If it's a squad member triggering the Disorder, Hoshimi Miyabi gains 2 points of Fallen Frost and her Basic Attack will ignore part of the enemy target's Ice RES.
When a squad member is either a Support-type Agent or affiliated with Hollow Special Operations Section 6, Hoshimi Miyabi's Basic Attack DMG increases.
Searing Cold
The Searing Cold effect is difficult to describe well, so I will simply lay down the official description that HoYoverse gave us via their post on Twitter/X.
"When Hoshimi Miyabi deals Frost DMG, she applies Icefire to the target and subsequently accumulates more Frost Anomaly Buildup against targets with Icefire.
When Hoshimi Miyabi applies Frostbite to enemies with Icefire, it will consume the Icefire to trigger Frostburn - Break, dealing massive Frost DMG and causing the target to enter the Frostburn state.
All squad members accumulate more Anomaly Buildup against enemies under the Frostburn state.
The Frostburn state ends when Frostbite expires."
EX Special Attack
When using her EX Special Attack, Hoshimi Miyabi dashes forward and unleashes several powerful slashes to multiple enemies, dealing massive Frost DMG and gaining 2 points of Fallen Frost.
If enough energy is left to unleash the EX Special Attack again, Hoshimi Miyabi will unleash a Follow-Up Attack and deal massive Frost DMG, as well as gain 2 more points of Fallen Frost.
She will be invulnerable during the duration of the attack.
If the second release of the EX Special Attack is followed up with holding of the Basic Attack, Hoshimi Miyabi will enter the Shimotsuki Stance and charge up all of her acquired Fallen Frost stacks. This only works when she has at least 2 points of Fallen Frost.
When releasing hold or depleting all Fallen Frost points, Hoshimi Miyabi draws her blade and unleashes a strong slash based on the number of Fallen Frost points consumed, dealing massive Frost DMG. Hoshimi Miyabi then exits Shimotsuki Stance.
Ultimate: Lingering Snow
When Decibel Rating hits max, Hoshimi Miyabi can unleash her Ultimate: Lingering Snow to deal massive Frost DMG in a large area on the field.
She pauses, before landing a final, powerful hit on the enemies, dealing even more Frost DMG.
Hoshimi Miyabi gains 3 points of Fallen Frost and her Ice DMG is increased greatly for a set period of time.
Fallen Frost points
Hoshimi Miyabi has many methods of accumulatingFallen Frost points during combat.
When entering combat, she automatically obtains Fallen Frost.
Fallen Frost can also be obtained by triggering Frostburn - Break, launching Hoshimi Miyabi's EX Special Attack or Ultimate, or when a squad member triggers Disorder.
And that's all you need to know about Hoshimi Miyabi! Or, at least, a very basic rundown of her kit.
It's safe to say that Hoshimi Miyabi is a unique and really interesting character, not just gameplay-wise but also within the story of the game.
