Metal Gear Solid 4 might be coming to next gen consoles, stay tuned to find out!
Back in June 2023, fans spotted an eye-catching detail on the Metal Gear Solid timeline page. There were placeholder buttons for three Metal Gear games, including Metal Gear Solid 4, that could be part of the Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2.
Metal Gear Solid 4 has only been playable on the PS3, which is sad, because the game's magic isn't as likely to be experienced by a more current audience.
Now, a hint by the developers suggests that Metal Gear Solid 4 could indeed come to next gen consoles.
“… You Can Probably Connect The Dots.”
The first hint for MGS 4 coming to next gen consoles came in the form of a tweet by Solid Snake's voice actor, David Hayter.
He posted a picture with a Snake statue from Metal Gear Solid 4, saying he attended an “interesting meeting the other day…”

What is even more exciting is what was said during IGN's recent interview with Konami producer Noriaki Okamura.
He was asked directly about bringing Metal Gear Solid 4 to modern consoles, to which he replied:
We definitely are aware of this situation with MGS4. Unfortunately we can't really say too much at the moment with Vol. 1 containing MGS 1-3 dot dot dot… you can probably connect the dots!
He goes on by saying:
Right now we still are internally concerned about what we should be doing for the future of the series. So sorry, we can't really reveal anything at the moment. But stay tuned!
So, it seems like Okamura, despite being bound by contracts, is giving us a sly little hint here. As he said, we're probably able to connect the dots.
Stay tuned for more info!
