HoYoverse is getting ready to launch the Zenless Zone Zero (ZZZ) 1.1 update on August 14, which will bring new missions with S-rank characters Jane Doe and Qingyi, and an A-rank character named Seth Lowell, plus other new stuff. But, what's even more exciting is that HoYoverse has shared some sneak peeks about the upcoming ZZZ 1.2 update, including details about the characters that will show up in the next banner.
Two new playable characters, Caesar King and Burnice White, are set to be part of the next update, as revealed through their drip marketing. And here is all that we know about the Zenless Zone Zero 1.2 banner, its characters, and their release date.
Zenless Zone Zero 1.2 Banner Characters
One of the key factions in Zenless Zone Zero is the Sons of Calydon, known for their chaotic, biker gang-like aesthetic and their slogan, "I come, I see, I crash." Currently, the only playable characters from this faction are Piper Wheel and Lucy de Montefio, but Zenless Zone Zero has introduced two new members from this group.
The Zenless Zone Zero 1.2 drip marketing campaign has unveiled two characters featured in the upcoming patch: Caesar King, the leader of the Sons of Calydon, and Burnice White, another faction member.
Caesar King
Caesar King is rumored to be an S-rank Physical-type Defense character, which aligns with the fact that she is depicted holding a shield in her official artwork. Beyond leading the Sons of Calydon, the quotes in Caesar's drip marketing may suggest a connection to Billy Kid.
Burnice White
Burnice is expected to join the Fire roster upon release, specializing in the Anomaly fighting style. Based on Burnice's announcement, she appears to be a sociable person with a talent for making drinks, as mentioned by Caesar King.
Burnice's rarity was not specified in her agent announcement. However, based on the pattern from previous agent announcements, the first two characters revealed before or during a patch are typically S-Rank Agents.
We have already caught a glimpse of these two new characters. The release trailer featured several Agents from the Sons of Calydon, including one with white hair and sunglasses, resembling Lucy and Piper, her fellow faction members. Leaks identify her as Burnice, a potential Fire Attribute Agent specializing in Anomaly. Another character shown shortly afterward, a female Agent with shoulder-length white hair, is believed to be Caesar, potentially a Physical Attribute character with a Defense playstyle.
Zenless Zone Zero 1.2 Banner Release Date
HoYoverse is yet to announce the release date for Version 1.2 of Zenless Zone Zero, but fans can likely expect it around September.
Caesar is anticipated to be released on September 25, 2024, the expected launch date for the ZZZ 1.2 banner, assuming Version 1.1 follows the typical 6-week schedule. And since Burnice was announced after Caesar, she will likely be released on October 16, 2024, during the second phase of Version 1.2.
As of now, neither HoYoverse nor the leaks have confirmed the ranks of these new characters. However, given their prominence, it is reasonable to assume that both Agents belong to the S-Rank category. If this is the case, Version 1.2 might not introduce any A-Rank characters, as leaks have only mentioned Caesar King and Burnice. But despite the lack of official confirmation, many fans have already expressed their excitement for Caesar and Burnice and are eager to pull for them once the banner goes live.
Hence, it will be interesting to see how the addition of Burnice and Caesar will influence Zenless Zone Zero's current meta.
