The COC October 2025 update is about to make the biggest changes to the game in years. Supercell is aiming to remove old frustrations, add more freedom, and make both farming and league play better for all types of players with the October 6 patch. Here’s what you can expect in this game-changing patch.

Clash of Clans October 2025 Update

COC Multiplayer Split: Battles vs. Ranked Battles

Gone are the days of one-size-fits-all matchmaking. The new update splits multiplayer into two core modes in Clash of Clans:

Battle Mode

  • The ultimate farming mode for everyone, letting you freely select opponents, skip bases, and rack up loot with no trophy risk.
  • Matchmaking is based on your Town Hall, and attacks are unlimited—even for Legend League players!
  • All players are open to being attacked for loot, so base design matters more than ever.

Ranked Battles

  • This is where the competition heats up. Focused entirely on pushing trophies, with limited daily attacks (just like Legends League) and no option to skip opponents.
  • Only Ranked Battles impact your trophies. Leagues have been overhauled, with extra tiers and new modifiers to make the upper ranks even more intense.
  • You’ll need at least Town Hall 7 to join the action, and the top leagues feature special challenges and rewards.

Major League System Upgrade

Your current trophy tally and Town Hall will determine your starting place in the new league system, which goes live after the final season of the old system ends on October 6, 2025. Only your best-ever trophy score will be recorded forever.

Ranked Battles and Battle Mode both give out Star and League Bonuses, but only Ranked Battles will impact your standing. After each season, trophies will reset (like Legends League does now) and only the best will make the cut for the highest ranks.

New achievements are coming too, so try to complete your old league All-Star achievements and grab any free gems before they vanish.

Town Hall Upgrades

One of the most welcome changes: the confusing star upgrade levels for Town Halls 12–15 (and the upcoming Town Hall 17) are gone.

Instead of grinding multiple tiers for a single building, you’ll now have a clear, single upgrade path, just like Town Hall 16. If you’re partway through an old upgrade, it’ll be canceled and your Town Hall weapon will immediately become maxed out for your level. That means less resource waste and a simpler, faster way to max your base.

Spring Trap Changes

Spring Traps are getting smarter and meaner. Instead of tossing several small units, traps now target the largest troop (by housing space) in range. If that troop’s too big, it takes heavy damage; if not, it gets launched sky-high or wiped out.

Seven new Spring Trap levels are coming for Town Halls 11 through 17, plus a higher-level trap for Builder Base too.

Overall, with the Clash of Clans October 2025 update, Supercell promises more improvements and isn’t afraid to keep tweaking systems based on player feedback. If you’ve ever been frustrated by grind, bad matchmaking, or league barriers, this patch is a breath of fresh air.

So, stay tuned for detailed patch notes, sneak peeks, and guides to get you up to speed.
