Krafton, the famous game company that made Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI), has shared some cool news about their Krafton India Gaming Incubator (KIGI) program. They added two new game-making studios: Dunali Games from Gurgaon and Arjuna Studios from Delhi. These studios will join others like ReDimension Games and Shura Games, which were picked earlier in March 2024.

Krafton India Gaming Incubator Welcomes Two More Startups: Dunali Games and Arjuna Studios

Dunali Games

Dunali Games is busy making a cool strategy game just for Android called Tale of Honour. The game will have a mix of sneaky moves and puzzles, so it’s gonna be different. Dunali Games was started by Dipender Kaushik, and they’ve made other mobile games before like Planet Heroes and Arrow Arcade, which shows they’re good at making fun games.

Arjuna Studios

Arjuna Studios is making a multiplayer Battle Royale game for phones called Gangster Carnival. Since mobile games are getting super popular, Gangster Carnival might bring something new to the Battle Royale world. Arjuna Studios was started by Salil Gupta, Manraj Bawa, and Sagnic Bhowmick, and they want to put a fresh spin on the popular Battle Royale genre with this new game.

What is KIGI aka Krafton India Gaming Incubator?

Krafton started the KIGI program in 2023 to help game-making studios in India grow and succeed. KIGI gives new companies important advice from experts in things like game design, marketing, and business.

They also help with money, giving between $50,000 to $150,000 to each team, plus access to Krafton’s resources like market research and data. This helps startups create and launch cool new games for the global market.

Besides the money and advice, KIGI also wants to support creativity and help people start businesses in India’s gaming industry. By choosing studios like Dunali Games and Arjuna Studios, they want to show off local talent and make India a big name in the world of gaming. ReDimension Games, one of the earlier teams in KIGI, won the “Upcoming Game of the Year” award at IGDC 2023 for their game Sojourn Past.

With studios like ReDimension, Shura, Dunali, and Arjuna, Krafton is showing they are serious about building a strong and creative gaming community in India. These teams make all kinds of games, from puzzles to battle royales, showing how much talent there is in Indian game-making.

Moreover, Krafton’s commitment to the Indian market goes beyond just its incubator. The company has made significant investments in the Indian gaming sector, with a total investment commitment of around $290 million. Krafton’s CEO, CH Kim, emphasized the importance of India to the company’s growth, stating that India is now one of the top five contributors to Krafton’s global success. In line with this, Krafton has not only focused on game development but also expanded its involvement in esports. With more BGMI tournaments and the ongoing BMPS tournament, Krafton is increasing its engagement with the Indian gaming community.

So, the KIGI program’s recent growth and Krafton’s continued support suggest a great future for game developers in India. By backing new and creative startups with resources, advice, and money, Krafton is helping to shape what gaming in India will look like in the future.
