The first part of Arcane’s season 2 is not even out yet and fans already know that there is even more to come. Way more to come. A whole universe, in fact!

After the massive hit of Season 1 of the League of Legends show Arcane that even won three Emmy Awards in 2022, the showrunner revealed plans way beyond Season 2.

While Arcane itself will end with the second season, Christian Linke said in an interview that Riot is already working on a lot more LoL shows to "tell more stories in the different regions, for different characters" in a MCU-ish way.

He confirmed that these projects will be "very different from each other".

Some of them will be more whimsical, some of them will be more serious and dark. Arcane is just the first step of a much bigger dream of storytelling.

Linke didn’t want to spill the beans about which exact characters or stories will be expanded and explored, but he said that he wants to dive into the "whimsical corner" of LoL and "focus to do something bigger there".

Since the often more light-hearted tones of LoL have already been left behind with Arcane and its darker themes, we could get to see a whole new side of LoL being animated.

A lot of franchises before failed to recreate the success of the MCU but with a big IP like LoL and a highly praised show like Arcane as a start, the upcoming League of Legends cinematic universe could totally work.
