Key Indian Medalists at Paris Olympics 2024

Manu Bhaker and Swapnil Kusale brought Medals in Shooting

Manu Bhaker was one of the stars, winning two bronze medals in shooting. She got one in the 10m Air Pistol Women’s event, followed by another in the 10m Air Pistol Mixed Team event with Sarabjot Singh. This made her the first Indian woman to win multiple medals in a single Olympic Games—an amazing achievement!

In men's shooting, Swapnil Kusale also made India proud by winning a bronze in the 50m Rifle 3 Positions event. This was the first time India ever won a medal in this category.

Indian Men’s Hockey Team Got Bronze

The Indian men’s hockey team continued their good run from the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, winning another bronze. They beat Spain 2-1 in an exciting match, with Captain Harmanpreet Singh scoring both goals.

Neeraj Chopra's Silver in Javelin

Everyone was excited about the men’s javelin throw because of Neeraj Chopra, who had won gold at Tokyo. This time, Neeraj won a silver medal with a throw of 89.45 meters. This made him the first Indian track-and-field athlete to win two Olympic medals. In this event, Pakistan’s Arshad Nadeem won the gold by setting a new Olympic record.

Aman Sehrawat's Wrestling Bronze

Wrestler Aman Sehrawat added another bronze for India in the men’s freestyle 57kg category. He won against Puerto Rico's Darian Toi Cruz with a score of 13-5, bouncing back after a tough semifinal loss to Japan’s Rei Higuchi.

While India didn’t break their record from Tokyo, the 2024 Paris Olympics showed how talented and determined the Indian athletes are. These six medals bring India’s total Olympic medal count to 41, with 10 golds, 9 silvers, and 22 bronzes.

As India looks forward to future competitions, the achievements at Paris 2024 will serve as a strong foundation for even more success. The hope is that this momentum will continue, leading to greater accomplishments in the upcoming Games.
