Fortnite players are furious after XP change doesn't affect Battle Royale's leveling problem

Fortnite changed the XP cap for most of its modes – fans of the left out mode are more than unhappy about that.

Epic Games spoils Fortnite fans with various changes and updates from skins to new modes almost daily and most of them are highly appreciated. It’s the same with the XP de-nerfing from December 4 – but not for everybody.

XP gaining got nerfed – and re-nerfed

After a few changes for Fortnite Chapter 6 during the first advent, people were a bit unhappy with the XP nerf that slowed down their leveling up progression. Before that, each mode in Fortnite had different challenges each day to gather tons of XP, but with Chapter 6 they got unified.

With an update on December 4 players are now guaranteed to earn up to 4,000,000 playtime XP each week in LEGO, OG and Reload modes. And while it seems like this update fixed the problem for said modes, Battle Royale still struggles with leveling up.

Battle Royale players have been left out

As reported by thItsADAMO_ and JimGrindsXP on X (former Twitter) Epic put a cap of 4,000,000 XP in Creative – which was welcomed with a warm applause from players. Only Battle Royale fans are still complaining about the time it takes for them to level up in comparison to Chapters before 6.

The weekly XP cap and the removal of milestones got players so far to state that it now would be “impossible to level up while playing BR mode”. Another user claimed that he played the game for four hours and only gained 3 levels.

So far Epic didn’t address this issue and it seems like there are no indicators showing an upcoming Battle Royale XP boost.

What do you think about the XP cap? Do you think leveling up in Fornite's Battle Royal should be faster again?
