In the latest episode of the Xbox Era podcast, Nick Baker claimed that after the remastering of Dark Souls 1 and 2 the returning of the third game is already in development.

Creating a completely new gaming genre with the release of Dark Souls back in 2011, FromSoftware started one of the most popular franchises ever. With over 10 million units sold, the third entry Dark Souls 3 is one the best-selling titles of the franchise as well as one of FromSoftware’s biggest hits in general. And now the studio might revisit this highly successful game.

It seems like the entire video game industry is remastering and remaking their biggest titles nowadays so it was only a matter of time until Bandai Namco and FromSoftware would decide to give Dark Souls 3 another try.

High resolution and frame rate

According to Nick Baker, it is already in the works. During the latest episode of the Xbox Era podcast he noted that the first two installments already got a remaster, so assuming the third one would follow is a safe bet.

A remaster could mean that you can relive your Dark Souls 3 experience with higher resolution and a way more stable frame rate. The game already supported the 60 frames-per-second format on PlayStation 5 as well as on the Xbox series, but since neither console support a higher resolution than 1080p, the remaster could mark the first time to play the game with high fps as well as high resolution.

Are you excited for the remaster of Dark Souls 3? Will it be your first or the second time to experience the game?
