IGN China leaked a "Dev Diary" from the team behind Assassin's Creed Shadows', which has provided new insight into the base-building system and other exciting features.
Assassin's Creed Shadows has been talked about a lot, mostly because of the controversy surrounding the game's main character, Yasuke. In 2022 Ubisoft announced AC Shadows and AC Invictus, and the latter has also been the talk of the town lately.
But with this new AC Shadows leak, we can say for sure that there is a lot more to talk about when it comes to the game set in feudal Japan.
Build your own Hideout
The leak by IGN China showcases many new features of Assassin's Creed Shadows, and I have to say it actually looks excellent. One particular feature has caught the eye of many people who saw the leak – the base-builder.
In Assassin's Creed Shadows, players will receive an acre of land, which enables them to customize their own "Hideout". This means that you will be able to build structures, paths and much more, to make your base your own.
I would advise you to watch the whole video, but you can skip ahead to 3:54 to see the segment about the base-building.
AC Shadows will also include a weather system that will impact the landscape in a way that changes up your gameplay. A pond, for example, will be frozen in winter, so you won't be able to hide in it, but you might be able to access other areas, because you can walk on it.
What excites me the most, are the new waypoints, which won't reveal everything on your minimap. You will only be able to climb on top of them and locate different objectives in your line of sight.
If Ubisoft really changes up their game formula for this game, I might consider trying this one out, even after giving up on the franchise.
What do you think? Are you excited about AC Shadows?
