Matt Rhodes shared some concept art that has been rejected from being put into the game.
Ten years after the release of Dragon Age: Inquisition the BioWare art lead shared some concept art that was never before seen.
Matt Rhodes, BioWare’s art director shared some never seen concept art for Dragon Age: Inquisition on X (formerly Twitter). The 21 character concepts were intended to be playable in Inquisition’s multiplayer mode that was harshly criticized for its monetization but still surprisingly successful.
The released mode already had some zesty concepts for playable characters, but a few of these rejected ones seem even weirder, as you can see here.
Still the biggest surprise might be “The Hermit” – since it is just Anders from Dragon Age 2 and the expansion of Origin’s Awakening. In his description it says: "There are many reasons for mages to hide in the wilderness. From Templar persecution, to the crippling guilt of starting a war that threatens to burn the world to ashes."
It seems like there have been a few options for Anders to reappear in Dragon Age: Inquisition. Ten years ago, shortly after the release of the game, Rhode’s already shared a similar concept of Anders as a mad hermit getting discovered out in the desert, named “Some guy in a cave”.
What are your thoughts on these concept arts? Would you have been a fan of the return of Anders?
