Marvel Rivals got fans excited by teasing an exclusive Captain America skin – now that it's been revealed, players are outraged.

Marvel Rivals teased a mystery Captain America skin on X – but fans felt let down when it was revealed:
Teasing A "Mystery Costume"
With the release of Captain America: Brave New World approaching, Marvel Rivals partnered with Regal Cinemas and teased a "special combo bundle" on the game's official X account. This purchase was supposed to reward users with a free spray, nameplate, and a “mystery costume” in the Super Hero Team-based PVP Shooter.

Disappointed Fans
Of course, fans quickly stormed the comment section, asking for more details. This is when Marvel Rivals revealed that the "mystery costume", the main object of excitement, is actually a skin that is already in the game:
The mystery costume included in the bundle from the collaboration with Regal is an existing costume in the game. If you already have that existing costume, you will only get the nameplate and spray - @MarvelRivals on X
Naturally, players who had hoped that the "mystery costume" was a brand new skin, possibly in relation to the new Captain America movie, were disappointed by this and found the announcement misleading:
I understand you're limited as the social media person, but this is not the way to communicate this. You guys need to make this clear immediately and explain what the actual skin is or lose the trust of your community on any future events like this. - @Faviahn
Others suggested that players who already own the costume should be compensated in a different way, such as by getting in-game currency equivalent to the value of the skin. The community found it unfair that people who had already acquired the costume would get less out of this deal.
What do you think Marvel Rivals should do? Would compensation with in-game currency solve the problem or should they have used an entirely new skin in the first place? Tell us your opinion in the comments!
