Marvel Rivals' solution to FPS issues causes another problem.

With players complaining about the game's performance, Marvel Rivals is working on solving the problems - but unfortunately creating some new ones underway...
Performance Issues
Marvel Rivals is still a pretty new game. The third-person 6v6 hero shooter that plays in the Marvel Universe was published in December 2024 and is currently only a few months old.
Therefore, some issues are to be expected. One of these that gamers frequently bring up is experiencing FPS drops or even crashes during matches. There are posts about this issue in the official Marvel Rivals subreddit that were made months ago.
Now, the devs have announced an experimental feature that's supposed to offer a solution, but currently, it still comes with some caveats that could also bother some players.
A Possible Solution?
Dear Rivals, We've just introduced a new experimental feature-Switch Shader Compilation Mode-which may help reduce memory usage and improve overall stability, especially for players with lower RAM setups or FPS concerns.Full details here >> https://t.co/mAkcOSPoC2If you... pic.twitter.com/WpLieKvP25

The attempted solution is a Switch Shader Compilation Mode, and, according to the official website, it has the following perks:
- The shader compilation process will only run when first entering the game after a new game version or graphics driver update.
- Game memory usage is dramatically reduced, cutting down on severe FPS drops, frozen visuals, and crashes triggered by memory shortages.
However, it currently still comes with some issues:
- In each new match, some materials might initially render abnormally for a few frames before returning to their usual state. Rest assured, rendering will behave normally for the remainder of the match.
- In each new match, you may encounter a slight stutter during the first rendering of certain materials, after which the frames stabilize into a smooth, continuous flow.
- On systems with a limited number of CPU threads (6 or fewer), enabling both the Switch Shader Compilation Mode and AMD FSR3 Frame Generation concurrently might induce additional stutters.
Still, it's a first fix, and the developers also state in the post that they will listen to feedback and continue to work on Marvel Rivals' mechanics.
Positive Feedback
Even though this solution hasn't been perfected yet, the feedback in the game's community was already overwhelmingly positive. Under the announcement made on X, players commented:
I’ve tried it, it actually works - @RivalsInfo
Yes pleaseeee tired of it taking 10 minutes to boot on an ssd even it’s insane - @Vodible
I am not used to having devs that care about the community this much 😂 - @FireMooch
Have you experienced performance issues in Marvel Rivals? Have you already tried the new fix, does it work?
