Publisher Laplacian and developer Sakasauma have announced their new animated novel game OneRoom: Yui Hanasaka Memorial, set to release in early 2025.

What is OneRoom: Yui Hanasaka Memorial?

OneRoom: Yui Hanasaka Memoria is an animated visual novel style game that follows the story of the anime OneRoom, created by animation studio SMIRAL. More specifically, we see the story of Yui Hanasaka.

The game adapts season 2 and 3 of the anime, focusing on the life of the protagonist and Yui Hanasaka in and after university, as their love for each other faces many troubles but also manages to grow stronger.

The scriptwriter of the original anime even joined the team at Sakasauma to write new authentic and in-character monologues to add more depth into the characters and their stories.

The game is not going to be very long, maybe about 15-20 minutes, but it makes sure to reward the player with concept arts, illustration collections, and original sketches.

It will receive full English, Japanese, Traditional Chinese, and Simplified Chinese language support when it finally launches on January 11, 2025.

It will be available for PC via Steam, and can already be wishlisted there.

The game is more of an experiment than a fully fledged game, and "designed to expand the possibilities of the new project," that the studio may already be working on.

Will you play OneRoom: Yui Hanasaka Memorial or are you more skeptical on how well it conveys the story of the anime? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments!
