With annual holidays come annual video game events. Overwatch 2's Valentine's Day event just started and with it came new challenges and rewards. Here's what's new!

Valentine's Day Event In Overwatch 2

First of all: The event only takes place for two weeks, from February 4 to February 18, so you'll need to be quick with your challenges. The upside is that if you do complete your challenges fast enough, you'll get lots of XP that will help you in the battle pass, and you can unlock free rewards!

Regarding the gameplay, the Love of Geometry mode is returning for the second time! The mode first launched in the 2023 Valentine's Day event, returned in 2024 and is currently available again.

What is Love of Geometry? It's a PvP deathmatch mode where two teams of four players fight each other – except all eight of you will be playing as the same character, Cupid Hanzo! It is also limited to one map, the Paris Deathmatch map, so you'll be fighting in the City of Love.

Hanzo's Scatter Arrow ability is re-introduced in this mode and your team will be rewarded with two kills if you manage to kill a player with this special ability. Your team wins if you either reach 50 kills before your opponents do or if you have more kills when the 10-minute timer runs out.

There are also 11 Valentine's Day challenges, 10 of which give you 2,500 XP! Some of them also include additional rewards:

  • The Radiant Love challenge, which requires you to complete 80 games, awards you with a Lovey Dovey Lifeweaver player icon in addition to the 2,500 XP
  • The Geometric Love challenge gives you 2,500 XP and a Mwah Lifeweaver voice line, you have to complete 6 games in the Love of Geometry mode for these rewards
  • The Love Is in the Air challenge is the only one that doesn't reward you with XP. Instead, it requires you to complete 7 other Valentine's Day challenges to complete this one. In return, you get a Pachilove name card

With overall 25,000 XP, these lovely challenges will definitely boost you in the battle pass, so you better get going!

Are you excited to play a non-pacifist cupid? Or do you care more about the rewards than the temporary game mode? Let us know in the comments!
