So far the Resident Evil 2 remake is only available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC via Steam and Switch via cloud streaming, but in December iPhone, iPad and Mac will be added to this list.

The horror classic first released in 1998 focuses on college student Claire Redfield and police officer Leon S. Kennedy that have to fight their way through a dark and gritty game with enemies infected by the G-virus, a mutation of the T-virus from the first installment of the franchise.

Now players can enjoy the remake of Resident Evil 2 on their iPhone, iPad or Mac – and thanks to the support for universal purchase and cross-progression, lead Leon and Claire through Racoon City on all their devices at the same time by transferring save data between them.

Updates, features and release date

The remake includes enhanced controls and a new auto fire feature, so players have the option to automatically fire weapons after aiming at enemies.

Players unsure about whether they will like this version of the game can try it out with a free demo.

The version from the App Store will be available on December 10 and compatible with all iPhone 16 models, iPhone 15 Pro models as well as every iPad and Mac with the M1 chip or later.

Are you a fan of the Resident Evil franchise? Will you give this version a try?
