With it’s newest DLC, players of Shift Up’s action adventure game Stellar Blade will get some new modes, options and even more content based on the game Nier: Automata.

Stellar Blade, the game that was the focus of a lawsuit after the film production company Stellarblade sued developer Shift Up for copyright infringement, was released earlier that year and tells the story of Eve who is supposed to save humanity on a post-apocalyptic Earth, taken over by the Naytibas.

Stellar Blade x Nier: Automata

The theme of the DLC, launching on November 20 is focused on 2017’s Nier: Automata, an action RPG published by Square Enix, that played a huge role in the creating of Stellar Blade.

Shift Up’s technical director DongKi Lee stated that Nier had "significantly inspired" Stellar Blade. The collaboration between the games as well as the directors of both games Kim Hyung Tea and Yoko Taro was “marked by mutual respect and creativity” which “led to this successful outcome”.

Collaboration-special items

Talking about the content of the DLC, Lee wrote:

In the center of all this is Emil, the strange character from Nier: Automata. Emil’s Shop makes a surprise appearance in the world of Stellar Blade where eleven different collaboration-special items will be available. Items that intertwine the best of both games, leading you to a more enriched world.

There will also be a patch, introducing four new costumes as well as the "Symbol of Legacy", a new accessory to change the appearance of the Tachy Mode.

In addition players will be able to give Eve a haircut with a “no ponytail” option and use an all-new "photo-mode" for Eve and the rest of the characters to pose.

Have you ever played Nier: Automata or Stellar Blade? And if so, are you excited for the collab? Let us know in the comments!
