Circle 5 Studios just announced the launch of their first-person dinosaur shooter Primal Carnage: Evolution for the PlayStation 4 in 2025, along with an optimized version for PS5.

The game gives you the opportunity to either play the role of an elite mercenary fighting off the deadliest creatures of prehistoric times, or become a dinosaur yourself, going on the most vicious rampage since the cretaceous period.

Of claws and bullets

Featuring an expanded roster of playable characters, Primal Carnage: Evolution is in every way an upgraded version of its predecessor, featuring evolved gameplay and brand new content.

You either choose the side of mankind or the prehistoric monsters, both with a wide range of customization options, creating a unique look to your characters. They will look even better with the enhanced graphics, remastered textures and better lighting with up to 60fps and an increased resolution for PS4 and 5.

Since the game's announcement trailer is only 17 seconds long and doesn’t include more than the title and some dinosaur roaring, we don’t know what the upcoming game will look or feature in the end – but so far, it sounds like a really cool game for fans of dinosaurs or unusual shooters. As the game has been available on Steam with the more modern version, we can take a guess how the console port will turn out, but with just a little bit of luck, we're in for some special treats.

Did you play Primal Carnage back in the day? And, in true preschool fashion, what is your favorite dinosaur?
