Help a woodworker to move on with his life after half of it faded when his beloved wife passed away.

Publisher Fellow Traveller and developer Made Up Games just launched their short story-driven game Pine: A Story of Loss, about life after love for Nintendo Switch, PC via Steam, iOS and Android.

A story of love and loss

The interactive short story focuses on a woodworker who grieves his recently passed wife in an emotional way with cute hand drawn animations. All alone in the glades, he attempts to move on in a place the two of them once made their home.

Simple, daily chores like collecting wood for the winter or tending the garden are interrupted by memories of happier times they spent together. To never forget her, the woodworker captures these memories in wood carvings.

The music that follows these events is touching and perfectly fits the mood of the emotional story.

Capturing happy memories

Charming puzzles and mini games are celebrating the happy moments the two spent together, playing games and building a life with each other, while the player helps the woodworker to go on.

The game's unique carving mechanic lets you create the mementos out of the collected wood, to be captured and never forgotten.

Pine: A Story of Loss is a short but touching game that can be played in one sitting and lets you relive the emotional ups and downs of losing a loved one, feeling stuck between grief and the need of moving on. The game as well as the soundtrack launched today for Nintendo Switch, PC via Steam, iOS and Android.

Will you give Pine: A Story of Loss a try? Do you think games can help to overcome emotional painful situations like loss?
