Nodwin Gaming, a top player in esports, just released an exciting teaser for the third season of the Battlegrounds Mobile India Master Series (BGMS) on June 25, 2024.
The tournament will kick off on July 19, 2024, featuring India's top 24 teams battling it out in one of the country's largest Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) competitions. However, organizers haven't revealed all the event details yet. Still, this news of BGMS Season 3 has sparked a lot of excitement among gamers, who can't wait for one of India's biggest esports events to return.
BGMS Season 3 Tournament: Event Date and Partners Announced
The BGMS, which started in 2022, has quickly become very popular in Indian esports. The third edition will happen from July 19 to August 11, with 24 of India’s top teams competing in Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI).
This LAN tournament follows the format of the previous seasons. However, the process for selecting the 24 participating teams has not yet been revealed. But, it is anticipated that some well-known organizations will receive direct invitations to the competition.
Coming to the tournament partners, Nodwin Gaming has consistently brought in big-name sponsors, making the tournament more prestigious and reaching more people. This year, they've partnered with top brands like TVS, TATA, Star Sports, Kawasaki, Puma, and JSW Sports. The involvement of these leading brands underscores the sport's appeal to a growing youth audience, positioning BGMS to dominate this expanding market.
Where to Watch BGMS Season 3?
This year, the tournament will be broadcast live on Star Sports, India's leading sports channel, marking its third consecutive year on mainstream television. This reflects the growing popularity of esports in India. Last season, BGMS attracted a large audience on the Star Sports Network, showing its appeal across the country.
Akshat Rathee, Co-Founder and Managing Director of Nodwin Gaming expressed excitement about the upcoming season, calling BGMS a cornerstone of esports in India. He also highlighted the significance of BGMS returning to a major sports network like Star Sports for the third time.
For those who prefer online streaming, the event will also be broadcast live on Nodwin Gaming's YouTube channels, just like previous editions.
Probable BGMS Season 3 Point System and Prize Pool
The upcoming tournament is expected to use a 10-point scoring system, similar to BGIS 2024. This is a shift from the 15-point system used in the previous two editions.
However, the official words are still not out and it will be interesting to see if the organizers introduce a new format for this season.
Coming to the prize pool, the first season of the BGMI Masters Series, held in Delhi NCR, had a total prize pool of ₹1.52 crore. The second season in 2023 featured an even larger prize pool of ₹2.1 crore. Hence, following the success of these previous iterations, Nodwin Gaming would be aiming to achieve similar success in the upcoming BGMS event.
Overall, the teaser has already sparked excitement in the gaming community, setting the stage for an action-packed BGMS event. This BGMS Season 3 is expected to be a great event, gathering top esports talent and providing great exposure for esports stars and brands on mainstream TV.
