XSET has won the Fortnite Esports World Cup 2024, earning a huge amount of $400,000 as prize money and 1,000 Club Championship Points.
The Fortnite Esports World Cup 2024 has wrapped up, and the winner of the tournament is XSET. The tournament was held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and XSET not only snagged a huge $400,000 prize but also got 1,000 Club Championship Points.
Here are the basic highlights from the historic event when XSET were crowned as the champions of Fortnite Esports World Cup 2024.
XSET Wins Fortnite Esports World Cup 2024
XSET totally rocked the Fortnite Esports World Cup 2024. The tournament started on August 8, and XSET, made up of Clix, Edgey, Muz, Ritual, Trashy, and Cold, showed they were amazing from the very beginning. They won every single match in the group stage without losing a single map, which made them the Group A champions.
In the playoffs, XSET kept up their winning streak. They defeated Gaimin Gladiators by 4-0 in the quarterfinals. Then, they faced HEROIC in the semifinals and won 4-1. In the grand final, they went up against Exceed and won 4-2 after an exciting match.
The grand final was a nail-biter. XSET and Exceed took turns winning maps. XSET kicked things off with a 3-0 win on Chalet Capture the Flag, but Exceed fought back with a 250-228 win on Panther Hardpoint. XSET then won 2-1 on Taverna Zoni Keeper, and Exceed took the next map, 2-1, on Panther Capture the Flag. But XSET took over from there, winning 250-166 on Chalet Hardpoint and 2-0 on Taverna Zoni Keeper to claim the championship.
Another highlight from the tournament was the format. This year’s Fortnite Esports World Cup was a bit different from usual. Instead of the classic battle royale mode, the tournament focused on multiplayer modes like Hardpoint, Capture the Flag, and Keeper played on custom maps made with Fortnite's Unreal Editor. And XSET's victory in the grand final included wins in all the various modes.
MVP of Fortnite Esports World Cup 2024
The tournament also celebrated some standout players. Joseph "Ritual" Mauro from XSET was named MVP of the tournament and won an extra $50,000 for his amazing performance. Joshua "Cold" Butler, also from XSET, was recognized as the MVP in their semifinal match.
