On October 13, 2025, GodLike Esports announced the departure of Ashutosh “Punk” Singh and Kaushal “Simp” Jaiswal from its Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) roster. The decision comes after the team finished 13th in the BGMI Showdown (BMSD) 2025, failing to qualify for both the BGMI International Cup (BMIC) 2025 and the PUBG Mobile Global Championship (PMGC) 2025.

The organisation shared a heartfelt farewell message on social media:

“From years of despair for us, they came as a ray of hope. Those memories of BGIS and BMPS still feel as fresh as yesterday. But sometimes, things are meant to come to an end; that’s what esports is about. We wish @ig_punkk and @simpp_bgmi nothing but the best for the future.”

The Punk and Simp Era in GodLike

Punk joined GodLike Esports on August 2, 2024, taking over as In-Game Leader (IGL) and leading the team to its first-ever official finals qualification. Under his leadership, GodLike achieved:

  • 3rd place in BMPS 2024
  • 2nd place in BGIS 2025 — their second consecutive podium finish

Simp, signed in April 2024, played a crucial role as the team’s support player, providing strategic cover, revives, and utility that were instrumental in their success.

Together, they brought stability and hope to a team that had struggled for consistency in previous seasons.

Decline and Final Blow

After their strong performances in 2024 and early 2025, GodLike’s form dipped sharply:

  • 24th in BMPS 2025
  • 29th in iQOO Battlegrounds Series 2025
  • 10th in BGMI Masters Series 2025
  • 13th in BMSD 2025 — their worst Grand Finals result in recent memory

Despite a decent run in the Quarterfinals and Semifinals, the team faltered in the BMSD Grand Finals, missing out on international qualification.

Kronten, co-owner of GodLike Esports, publicly apologised to fans and confirmed that tough decisions were necessary to restore the team’s competitive edge.

Roster Changes and Future Plans

GodLike has retained its two-star assaulters:

  • Jonathan “Jonathan Gaming” Amaral
  • Tanishk “Admino” Singh

Additionally, Godz remains in the lineup.

Reports suggest that Mohammad “Manya” Raja, one of the most decorated IGLs in BGMI history, is expected to join as the new captain. Manya’s trophy cabinet includes wins at:

  • BGMI Masters Series Season 3
  • BMPS 2023
  • Skyesports Championship 5.0
  • Skyesports Champions Series
  • The Esports Club BGMI Invitational Season 4

While neither Manya nor GodLike have officially confirmed the signing, fans expect an announcement after the BMIC 2025.

All in all, the departure of Punk and Simp marks the end of a chapter for GodLike Esports. While their exit is bittersweet, it signals the organisation’s intent to rebuild and return stronger in the 2026 season.

Both players are now free agents and are expected to attract interest from top organisations like Orangutan, K9 Esports, and Team Soul. Their experience and past success make them valuable assets for any squad looking to rebuild or strengthen.
