Krafton, the company behind PUBG, is teaming up with developer Pocketpair to bring a mobile version of the popular game Palworld. The news was recently announced, and Krafton’s PUBG Studios will handle making the game work smoothly on mobile devices. The main goal is to keep the key features of Palworld while adapting them for mobile gameplay.

Palworld Mobile Version Coming Soon

Palworld, which first launched in early 2024, has gained a lot of attention, especially on PC and Xbox. It’s a monster-taming game that many compare to Pokémon, but with a twist—it includes guns and has a darker tone. In the game, players capture creatures called "Pals" to help them in battles and other tasks. Given how well the game has done, moving to mobile seems like a smart way to reach even more players.

Krafton has a good track record with mobile games, especially with PUBG Mobile, which has been a massive hit since its release in 2018, racking up over a billion downloads. They’re hoping to repeat that success with Palworld on mobile, though no release date has been announced yet.

Despite its success, Palworld has run into some legal trouble. Nintendo and The Pokémon Company have filed a lawsuit, accusing the game of infringing on their patents. The main issue? Palworld uses a ball-like object to capture monsters, which is very similar to the Pokémon games, especially Pokémon Legends: Arceus. Nintendo claims that this feature violates one of their patents.

Even with this lawsuit hanging over them, Pocketpair is still pushing forward. They recently launched Palworld on PlayStation 5, and now they’re focused on developing the mobile version. This would allow the game to reach millions of mobile gamers worldwide. However, the lawsuit could complicate things as the mobile version is still in development.

Pocketpair has said they’re looking into the patent claims and are continuing to work on the game. They’ve apologized to players who are concerned about the future of Palworld, but for now, the game is still available on platforms like Steam and Game Pass. In fact, it’s doing really well, breaking records for sales and the number of players online at the same time.

It’s also worth noting that Pokémon itself has been incredibly successful in the mobile market with games like Pokémon GO and Pokémon Unite. If Palworld can get past these legal challenges, its mobile version could also become a big hit in the ever-growing mobile gaming world.

In the end, while the future of Palworld is a bit uncertain because of the lawsuit, the partnership between Krafton and Pocketpair shows they’re serious about expanding the game’s reach. Whether Nintendo’s legal action will stop them remains to be seen, but for now, fans have something to look forward to as Palworld makes its way to mobile, just like PUBG Mobile did.
