Biggest Failure Of 2024 So Far? Overwatch-Lookalike Concord Reportedly Only Sold 25,000 Copies

Analytics reveal that Concord is having a tough time regarding player numbers and sales after its launch.

Not every major game performs well on launch. Especially, when it launches right next to other, bigger names. And that has once again been proven by the release of Concord.

Concord is Sony's exclusive hero-shooter that just launched about 10 days ago, and it seems like no one really cares.

Low Sales And Even Lower Active Player Numbers

On August 23, Concord launched with underwhelming 697 players on Steam, as reported by IGN. As you can imagine, the current player numbers are even worse, with 46 players playing it as we speak, and a 24-hour peak of 119 players.

Liam Deane, who is the principal analyst at Omdia said:

The Steam numbers are so bad that even without the exact data on the PS5 side we can be pretty certain that the game is doing very badly.

The PS5 numbers seem to be just as bad. IGN spoke with Circana analyst, Matt Piscatella, who cited Circana’s Player Engagement Tracker, on Monday, August 26 as such:

Concord ranked 147th in US PS5 daily active players across all titles, with fewer than 0.2% of Monday's active PS5 players playing the game

Analyst Simon Carless estimated that Concord’s total sales are sitting around 10,000 units on Steam, and around 15,000 on PlayStation.

So, not a great start for Sony's hero-shooter, maybe they could see an increase in the future.

What do you think? Have you heard of Concord?
