BO6's newest update leads to more accurate weapon handling and more powerful headshots.
The latest update for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is finally here and made a few interesting changes to some aspects of the game, especially regarding headshots and the precise aiming of weapons.
With the newest update, Treyarch made sure that headshots are dealing more damage in BO6 and it is easier for players to aim precisely by reducing sway and recoil.
In the patch note the devs stated:
We have taken a comprehensive pass on weapon motion and applied reductions across the board to improve the combat experience. Depending on the class and weapon, our targets for these reductions range from 30% to 75%. Players will notice far more stability while turning, moving, changing stances, and firing, especially while ADS.
With these changes the devs try to improve the game’s gunplay, rewarding gameplay and maintaining the characteristics that make every weapon unique.
Less idle sway, more powerful headshots
The idle sway is an important part of the changes that came with the update. According to Treyarch it is "now improved and consistent across all weapon classes", by the delay on all weapons lowered to 2.2 seconds.
Noting that, while Sniper Rifles before the update only scaled initial idle sway by half, it’s now providing a complete reduction, the devs claimed to "always keep a close eye to sniper balance".
With the exception of these changes being the max damage range for SMGs, every other weapon will now be more accurate while headshots inflict more damage and require fewer hits to kill.
