Lies of P is getting a DLC that functions as a prequel to the story of the main game.
The soulslike action RPG Lies of P by Neowiz was an instant hit when it was released in 2023. Now, in 2025, the game is getting a DLC. Here's everything we know so far:
First of all: Lies of P: Overture is a DLC and you need the base game to be able to play it. It is set to release in the summer of 2025 but the exact release date hasn't been specified yet. Contrary to the main game, the DLC will only be released for PlayStation consoles, specifically PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 5 Pro.
A First Look At The Life of P DLC
In Lies of P: Overture, an ancient artifact sends you back to Krat’s final days of glory, the late 19th century Belle Époque era. Playing as Geppetto’s lethal puppet, your task is to follow a legendary Stalker. As the Puppet Frenzy is approaching, you uncover the city’s tragic secrets. Your actions affect both the past and present, revealing hidden truths and triggering significant consequences.

A "Developers' Cut"
On the PlayStation Blog, the game's director Jiwon Choi introduces Overture and the motivations behind creating it in the first place:
There’s a term in movie making known as a “director’s cut.” This version differs from an initial theatrical release and usually includes additional footage the filmmaker believes perfects the work. With Lies of P: Overture I wonder if we subconsciously aimed to create a “developers’ cut” of Lies of P. - Jiwon Choi
So in summary, this addition provides players with background knowledge of how the devastating events of the main game came to be and deepens the lore even more. Also, it reportedly explores some new features as well, although no details have been named yet.
