There are much needed updates for games and there are updates that just make certain body parts jiggle. The First Descendant will receive the latter.

Nexon’s developer, the people that created The First Descendant are seemingly quite special. Or at least very passionate when it comes to fan service. And it seems like the game, often called a Destiny knock-off, will have a new “important” feature very soon.

In October, for example, Nexon brought an update to the game removing the “tails” from a skin so players could see... well... less tail but more tail.

Now a developer proudly announced that the game will soon feature “jiggle physics”. On Discord he wrote:

I wanted to share some important news, so I decided to come online late tonight. After a lengthy discussion with the AD today, a decision has been made to add the much-requested 'Jiggle Physics.' This was decided only a short while ago, so the details of when and how it will be implemented in the game are yet to be finalized and will be shared in future updates.

The unbothered summer children among us might not be aware of “jiggle phsyics”, but it is basically a system that intensifies the movement of certain specific body parts on your characters. The need to add this kind of “exaggerated realism” to games exists – according to Wikipedia – since the 90s with games like Fatal Fury 2.

As “important” as it seems to be for some devs and gamers, not everybody is a fan of this weird kind of physics. Fortnite for example had “the jiggling” added and then quickly removed in 2018, while Epic Games itself called it “embarrassing and unintended”.

We will see if the addition of jiggle physics will be as important for The First Descendant as the dev claims when the update happens.

Do you think the game really needs those updates or would you be more interested in changes that improve the gameplay?
